For scheduling reasons we had corned beef and cabbage the day before Saint Patrick’s Day. However I didn’t feel one bit slighted on the day itself as we took the leftover corned beef, freshly baked potato bread, pepper jack cheese and added the special sandwich sauce developed by the Man of the House. The sandwiches [...] Earlier in the week I caught one of the morning news shows. They had segment on Valentine’s Day gifts. Their proposed gift for your sweetie? A lovely new laptop. A laptop?!? We started out the new year with a treat from the mother of the Man of the House. She’s Dutch and sent us a box of hagelslag (dark chocolate sprinkles). In Holland people put these on buttered toast. We used them on sandwich bread. Delicious! It was a fun way to start out 2010. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope that you have a fun Fourth of July tomorrow. Remember that it’s not too late to make hamburger buns for your cookout. |
