Really the best, fluffy, and tall white bread. So large wasn’t sure my bread knife c manage but it is a 10” sharp one. Butter was room temperature. I used KAF Bread Flour. Sometimes the bread machine and the flour does matter. I have the virtuoso ZO bread machine that easily handles this size loaf. A smaller machine I doubt would and you may want to halve the recipe. Definitely a 2 lb recipe!i live in AZ and in the winter when it is dryer 1T more water might be needed. Not this recipe. It was perfect. A smooth round perfect ball in the machine on regular cycle. I usually use the dough cycle and shape and bake but today just did it in the machine. What a perfect surprise. I think in a bread machine the recipes have to be measure precisely. Little forgiveness. My recipe in the booklet was the exact same as your recipe and I could not using the weigh scale. So I used the dip and level method for the flour. Hope this helps some! The salt and honey amounts were perfect on! Thank you!

Breakfast was delicious. The only change was I ordered 3/4 of a cup of toasted sunflower halfway to Mixing at the beep.

This Honey Bread came out so tall and tasted great. I made it last night and we cut the slices narrow so we could use them for sandwiches. No need to add any extra water.

Great recipie. I bought a bread maker yesterday and this was the first recipie I made. It was delicious. Best bread I have tasted and my children loved it. I told my kids that once the store bought bread ran out they will be using this bread and one of my daughters said, “ I want it to run out now”. The only thing I did differently is I added slightly more butter.

    • Great question! I’ve added that information to the recipe. Basically if your machine preheats then you can just add cubes. If it doesn’t then you’ll want to melt the butter first.

    • I’m so sorry the recipe didn’t turn out for you. Can you be more specific about what happened? Did the bread rise? Was it completely baked? Did you make any substitutions to the recipe?

  5. I tried this recipe and I am not sure what it was but my bread machine motor over heated twice I have a KBS machine and the first loaf of bread (another recipe came out fine) this re ipe seemed very dry and I added a lot of extra water to moisten the dough up the paddle kept sticking in the dough that is why it was over heating. I am not sure if is a combination of the machine being not strong enough and dry dough. I am having second thoughts on the machine I bought.

I was going to throw away this bread machine and buy a new one but decided to give it one last try with your recipe.
I NEVER write reviews for recipes I’ve found online, but, this bread is fantastic.
I’ve made 100s of loaves in this machine but, to date, this is by far the best! The bread is perfect ( no adjustment of liquids necessary)
    Wow!
I can’t wait to make more.

  7. This is the softest, most delicious bread I’ve made, EVER! I did add an extra 1/4 cup of water and it came out perfect. I always use my machine to make the dough and then I put it in a bread pan and this rose up quite high!

    • I haven’t had much experience using while wheat flour. (The Man of the House doesn’t like it so the bread doesn’t get eaten.) However I’d be worried that the recipe wouldn’t turn out unless you added some unknown amount of vital wheat gluten. If you do figure out a whole wheat version of this recipe be sure to let me know. I’m sure a lot of people would be interested.

  8. Wonderful recipe! It turned out great every time I’ve made it! I do the dough cycle on my Zojirushi bread machine, cut the dough in half, form the dough to fit 1lb. pans, let rise in warm place about 45 min., bake in oven 350 for 25 minutes. They turn out great!!!

    • Hi Pauline, Congrats on the new machine! Unless specified, these recipes are for a two pound bread machine. Your bread maker should say if it’s a one, one and a half pound or two pound machine. Changing recipes for different machine sizes can be tricky and usually isn’t just a matter of halving the ingredients. It takes experimentation.

  9. I want to use the “dough” setting and bake it in my oven.
At how many degrees and for how long should I bake it?
    Thanks!

  10. Tried thus recepe yesterday and am making my second loaf already this morning. My kids live it. It’s soft but strong enough to make a sandwich that doesn’t fall apart. ( crucial for kids)
Best bread recepe I’ve found yet.

  11. This one is a winner!! Love it and so does the family. Almost gone and I made it yesterday. It’s a keeper for sure. Will be making this one again and soon. I did add about 2 tbls more water after first mix.

  12. I just got a bread maker from my grandmother and it’s a 1- 1 1/2 lbs one. could you tell me what the measurements would be for a 1.5 lbs loaf so I could try this recipe?

  13. Bread came out fine, had on medium setting next time will have on dark, cornbread on the menue tommorow, if I didn’t put in 3 extra tablespoons of water this would have been a disaster, thanks again

  14. Thanks, got my first loaf going in my new Zo , had to add 3 more tablespoons of water to get it where it looked right, I’ll find out here in a bit how it turns out
