The Bread Lover’s Bread Machine Cookbook — 3 Comments

  1. Hi Cherie, I’m sorry that you’re having trouble with your bread machine. Hopefully you’ll grow to love it like I love mine!

You might try sticking with the recipes that came with your machine for awhile. That should give you a nice base of positive experiences.

Cutting down on yeast will give you less of a rise. So you might try that the next time you make the bread. Less sugar or more salt will also cut the rise, but I’d just play with one ingredient at a time.

  2. I just got my Zo, so I am a newbie. I also have the same bread machine cookbook, but I have not had much luck. My first try was with the sour cream bread, but it rose too much and stuck to the top of the lid of the bread machine. Most of the recipes call for 1 tablespoon of SAF yeast. Do you think that is too much yeast and that 2 1/4 teaspoons is a better amount? All advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Cherie.

  3. I love this cookbook! So far not a single recipe in the book has failed me and I live at an altitude of almost 7000 ft. I usually adjust my salt and add more vital wheat gluten however. The challah is even quite good which surprised me.
